AI Foundations Curriculum
This curriculum was created to give students a relevant, approachable, and hands-on introduction to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence. Appropriate for any K-12 classroom, this AI curriculum introduces and reinforces the Five Big Ideas in AI as developed by AI4K12. Please note that this has been built for virtual and hybrid classrooms with no need for additional hardware.
STEM/Robotics Curriculum
Following a 5E lesson structure, this STEM/Robotics unit invites students to explore science topics such as sense of touch, the nervous system, and the field of prosthetics through the building and programming of robots using UBTECH Education's Advanced UKIT and custom software, bringing the NGSS concepts to life.
As we brainstormed different ways to share our curriculum offerings, I created a web-based version for this unit for consideration. In the end, we continued to create interactive PDFs.
Robotics/Coding Lesson
This is a robotics/coding lesson with math and ELA connections appropriate for Grades 3-5. The lesson is broken up into five areas, including a warm-up activity to introduce the students to the focus concepts/products, hands-on activities, and a wrap-up to check for understanding of the concepts/products introduced and taught throughout the lesson.
The first three activities will be teacher-directed through the use of a student-facing slideshow and teacher-facing resources. Activity 3 is a student-led exploration activity that utilizes student- and teacher-facing resources with one accompanying slide. The Wrap-Up can be completed orally or in writing with the questions posed on the final slide.
Coding Curriculum
During my time at Pitsco, I had the opportunity to work on curriculum for KUBO and Smart Buddies.
KUBO's unique TagTile® programming language is based on a puzzle-like concept and follows simple and logical steps. Each TagTile® represents a command that KUBO reads and executes. A combination of TagTiles® creates an algorithm that tells KUBO how to solve a task.
Smart Buddies is an inclusive, classroom‑ready, coding-and-robotics solution specifically designed to engage elementary-aged kids—and especially underrepresented groups—in STEM through storytelling, hands-on programming, and curriculum that builds both technical skills and social awareness.
